Description
The ancistrus catfish, also known as the bristlenose pleco, is an efficient algae eater especially when it’s younger and unlike the common pleco which is generally found in most aquarium stores – this fish does not grow large and remains between 4 to 6 inches in size.
This bottom dweller makes an excellent companion to our Stendker discus and does not bother or attack other fishes, however it is important to ensure that it is supplemented with its own diet if there is not enough algae and leftovers in the aquarium.
Fish Size Guide:
The ‘Maximum Size’ outlined below is the length this fish can reach as a full grown adult. For the actual size please use the select menu above.
Discus.ae prefers younger stock for their better ability to adapt to new water parameters and higher tolerance against transport. On rare occasions you may receive larger specimens when small fish are unavailable, however the smallest should be expected unless the size is noted as “Large” or “Adult”.
